Tottenham striker Harry Kane fires top four warning to Manchester United

Harry Kane says Tottenham admit they are in a fight to finish in the top four in the Premier League, but has warned rivals including Manchester United that they are focused on that challenge.

Spurs finally moved into their new stadium this week, and recorded a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace to move back into third place.

Kane had seen his side slip away from the top two and in danger of missing out on a Champions League spot, but says the new stadium can spur them on.

He told the Guardian: “There are no excuses now. We are here, we are home, and if we play like that [against Crystal Palace] we will be all right.

“Being on the pitch just felt like home. In the final year at the old White Hart Lane we finished unbeaten and I hope this will be the same.”

“It has been a tough few weeks for us and we are in a battle for the top four."

And with United losing at Wolves this week, Spurs knew they could strengthen their position with a win over Palace - something Kane says was in their mind.

He continued: "Obviously with United losing [at Wolves on Tuesday], it was up to us to gain a few points on them. I thought we were excellent.”
