Tottenham can save £69m and finally complete two-year transfer mission under Antonio Conte

As per the latest reports, Tottenham have reignited their interest in signing Paulo Dybala with the issue that blocked their previous attempt no longer an obstacle in any pursuit of him.

In August 2019, news emerged that Spurs had reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of the Argentine forward, for a fee in the region of £69million (€75million).

However, Spurs eventually pulled out of a deadline day deal at the last minute as a result of Dybala's image rights issue.

Clubs typically acquire image rights of new signings but, in recent years, players have decided to take the matter into their own hands by selling off their image rights to media companies.

Dybala consequently sold his rights to a Malta-based company owned by his former agent, Pierpaolo Triulzi.

It proved difficult for Tottenham because they would've liked to have used the signing of a world known star like Dybala to help sell merchandise and profit from their investment.

But they needed to reach a third-party agreement with the media company, who, as per the Express, were demanding £14million.

Nevertheless, it was claimed earlier this year that the Argentine had finally reached a settlement with Triulzi to regain control on his image rights.

That, as well as news that his contract at Juventus expires in 2022, suggests that Spurs could be tempted to make a second offer for his services.

And according to Calciomercato, the Lilywhites are monitoring his situation closely with the hope of bringing him to north London.

Signing the 28-year-old would still be a statement from Spurs and an addition like Dybala will aid Antonio Conte's project.
