Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been named Manager of the Year at the London Football Awards.

The Argentine has earned huge praise for guiding Tottenham into the top four and into the Champions League knockout stages, despite the club having failed to sign a single player in either the summer or January transfer windows.

The awards, which celebrate the best of London football in the 2018/19 season, are voted for by a panel of 22 experts from across the football industry, including ex-players such as Bobby Zamora, Bob Wilson and Tony Cottee.

Pochettino came out on top of a shortlist that included Watford’s Javi Gracia, and, despite the recent drama at Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri.

Arsenal Women boss Joe Montemurro was also recognised with a nomination in the midst of a thrilling title race, while Charlton boss Lee Bowyer completed the five-man list.

Last year’s award was won by Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson.
