Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino offers injury update on Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen and Harry Winks ahead of Champions League final

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident that the three-week break before the Champions League final will allow his walking wounded to recover in time to face Liverpool.

The Londoners are waiting on the fitness of Jan Vertonghen (ankle), Harry Kane (ankle), Harry Winks (groin) ahead of the showdown with the Reds in Madrid on June 1.

Vertonghen was hurt in the second leg of Spurs' semi-final win over Ajax and left the stadium on crutches with his foot in a protective boot.

The Belgium international sat out their final Premier League game against Everton on Sunday but was seen walking freely around the stadium during the post-match lap of appreciation.

Liverpool transfer rumours rated - Domenico Berardi, Timo Werner, Ryan Sessegnon

“It’s the last league game of the season but there’s a lot of time for him to come back,” Pochettino said.

“I hope to have all the squad available but if someone is not available then it’s about the team.”

While Jurgen Klopp has decided to give Liverpool a five-day break prior to next week's training camp in Spain, Pochettino has given the Spurs players just two days to rest.

“We need to be natural, to apply common sense,” Pochettino added.

“It is not a pre-season but it is not going to be a holiday. We are going to assess each individual and give more individual work than collective.”

Serge Aurier returned to the squad against Everton and Victor Wanyama overcame a thigh problem to play in the second half.

Wanyama replaced Dele Alli but Pochettino insisted it was just fatigue and played down suggestions that Alli would be a doubt for the final.
