Tottenham board confirm Jose Mourinho event to let Spurs fans meet and quiz the manager

Jose Mourinho will meet Tottenham Hotspur supporters at a special Fan Forum in the future according to the club's executive director Donna-Maria Cullen.

The Portuguese replaced Mauricio Pochettino as head coach in November 2019 and he has overseen a dramatic few weeks in charge of last season's Champions League finalists.

Despite a poor run of results since January, the former manager of Chelsea and Manchester United has led Spurs back into the fight for top four, and has a one goal deficit to overturn against RB Leipzig to reach the last eight of the Champions League.

In special meeting between the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust and the Spurs board, senior figures at the club were asked about setting up an event for fans to meet Mourinho given the "strong feelings" over his work so far.

Executive director Donna-Maria Cullen confirmed that Spurs would be organising a "Fans Forum" with the head coach in the near future, although a date has not been announced, nor the venue or any criteria by which fans would need to fit in order to attend in person.

The board were also asked about whether the Portuguese is happy with role at Tottenham to which the club's head of communications, Simon Felstein, confirmed that he is and is enjoying his time in north London.

Mourinho has long enjoyed a bond with fans of the clubs he has managed, from Porto to Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid and United.

Upon his official announcement as the new head coach of Spurs he sought to ingratiate himself to his new public by claiming he had begun to sleep in club pyjamas.

He has also been able to point to a spate of major injuries that have robbed him of a number of key players including Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min, while his critics have pointed to a lack of games for Troy Parrott and his man management of Tanguy Ndombele as areas of concern.

Tottenham find themselves in eighth place with only nine games left to play in the Premier League, four points off fourth place.
