Tottenham ban fan who threw cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa during derby loss

Tottenham have confirmed they have issued a ban to the supporter who threw a cup at visiting goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during Sunday's Premier League derby.

Chelsea forward Willian struck twice in the first half to seal a 2-0 victory, before Kepa was the target of a missile thrown from the home end as Spurs grew frustrated in the second period.

“We can confirm that we have identified and issued an immediate ban to the individual responsible for throwing a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during Sunday’s Premier League home fixture," said a statement.

"We shall continue to take the strongest action possible against anyone found to be behaving in this way."

Chelsea's derby victory was overshadowed by alleged acts of racism in the second period, when Antonio Rudiger claimed he was subjected to racist chanting coming from the home end.

Spurs immediately launched a probe but say their early findings are inconclusive, though they continue to investigate the matter "exhaustively".

They added: "Our investigation into the alleged racist abuse against Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger remains ongoing."

Meanwhile, it was reported on Monday that a Chelsea fan had been arrested for allegedly racially abusing Tottenham's Heung-min Son during the same fixture.
