Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes there is more pressure on Tottenham Hotspur to win the Premier League title than Chelsea.
Both sides have enjoyed a fine start to the season and each has been tipped to challenge for the league title in a season when both Liverpool and Manchester City have already faltered to varying degrees.
Chelsea spent more than £200million in the summer to revamp their squad, and with such investment comes great pressure, but given Spurs have never won the Premier League, it's they who should be feeling more pressure.
Or at least that's according to former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink.
“With the squad they have, the investment that’s come in, you have to challenge," he said on Sky Sports before Chelsea's goalless draw with Spurs.
"I think Tottenham, for me, needs to win the league more than Chelsea. Chelsea have spent a lot of money, they are still moulding their team.
"The pressure is more on Spurs, if it comes, it comes and you take it with two hands.”
Speaking about how Chelsea have improved since the start of the season, Hasselbaink added: "Two months ago when you asked me about Chelsea, they were getting way too many goals against.
"But they’re defending really well at the moment - they’re solid with the goalkeeper and Silva."
Manchester United legend turned pundit Roy Keane agreed with Hasselbaink that Spurs could be in the mix for the title, but he believes Chelsea are a greater threat to the likes of Liverpool and Man City, claiming Frank Lampard has the 'stronger' of the two squads.
“Chelsea have a stronger squad, they’re probably the biggest challenger to Liverpool and Man City," said Keane.
"Spurs, because they have Mourinho and Kane - you just never know.”
