Tottenham and Man United fans make Islam Slimani demand over shock transfer links

Islam Slimani has been one of the hot topics today after it was reported that Manchester United are targeting the Leicester City striker, who has also been linked with Tottenham.

The 31-year-old has spent the last couple of years out on loan from Leicester City after seven goals in 23 matches (13 starts) during the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

Slimani's loans away from the club have included stints at Newcastle United, Fenerbahce and now he's at Monaco, where he has starred this season.

The Algerian has bagged seven goals in eleven starts and that has led to links with the likes of Tottenham and United.

Sky Sports state that the Red Devils see him as a loan option in the January transfer window due to Marcus Rashford's back injury.

But Spurs fans and United supporters are not enamoured with the idea of Slimani and have provided some strong reactions.

For a bit of balance, there is one Leicester fan out there who has issued a strong defence of Slimani.

@TheSirRobotto: "Manchester United & Spurs in for Islam Slimani...... People call him a FLOP, he isn’t, he didn’t suit Leicester, and his stats are based on 10 minute appearances.

"He’d get 15+ every Premier League for a team who used him correctly, would be a great signing."
