Tottenham and Jose Mourinho suffer major blow in transfer for the next N'Golo Kante

Baptiste Santamaria will be allowed to leave Angers during the summer transfer window.

That's according to the midfielder's agent, Yves Le Mee.

The former France U20 international who is reportedly rated at £13 million has attracted the interest of several clubs across Europe including Tottenham Hotspur who could be on the market for midfield reinforcements.

Premier League rivals Leicester City and Everton are also said to be in the race to sign Santamaria who has been compared to Chelsea and France star N'Golo Kante because of his ability to win the ball back at a high success rate.

And it's looking likely that the midfielder will be on the move in the summer.

Although, it would appear that a switch to Italy is the preferred option which would be bad news for Spurs and the aforementioned Premier League duo.

"In the next transfer market, we have the word of the (Angers) president that we will be allowed to leave," Yves Le Mee has revealed.

"I hope Santamaria can move to Italy because it is the most difficult championship in which he can grow the most.

"Baptiste, however, has a lot of interest (elsewhere), with the most important clubs in France setting their sights on him."

With that said, the player himself has also gone on record stating that he's ready for a new challenge.

“It’s time to continue my progress in a new challenge. It is the logical continuation of the things," Santamaria told Telefoot last month. "Playing for a top European club? I prepare for it every day. Inevitably, I have this ambition and this desire to continue my progress like that.

"We’ll see how it goes, but I really want to (test myself at a higher level)."
