Tottenham and Fabio Paratici dealt transfer blow as Wolves manager makes Adama Traore claim

Wolves manager Bruno Lage has said that Adama Traore will stay at the club this summer despite strong Tottenham Hotspur transfer links.

Spurs have been credited with an interest in the former Barcelona starlet in recent days with it being reported that Fabio Paratici could attempt to seal his signature on an initial loan deal, with the possibility of a permanent transfer further down the line.

However, with Wolves running out of time to find a suitable replacement for the 25-year-old, Tottenham may find it difficult to wrap up a deal in the coming days.

And their task has been made that little bit more difficult after Nuno Espirito Santo’s successor at Molineux, Lage, admitted that he thinks Traore will stay in the midlands.

When asked whether he expects the Spaniard to stay at the club, as per the Athletic, Lage said: "Yes I think so. We want to create a strong team and to be competitive.”

He reportedly would not answer if a bid had been made, but he did seem confident that Traore not be leaving Molineux this summer.

Spurs defeated Wolves 1-0 on Sunday thanks to Dele Alli’s penalty, and speaking after the game in his post-match press conference, Espirito Santo admitted how much he appreciates Traore, which suggests he’d like to be reunited with him at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

"I think Wolves have a very good team and created us enormous problems, big big problems. One of those was Adama. Everyone knows Adama is unique and he's very hard to stop.”

With just six days remaining in the transfer window, Spurs will need to get a move on if they wish to see Traore wearing a Tottenham jersey next season.
