Tottenham and Chelsea have received a boost in their hunt for Lille striker Victor Osimhen as the Nigeria international has denied an agreement with Napoli is in place.
A host of Premier League clubs, including the London duo and champions-elect Liverpool, have been linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old international.
The player's agent has spoken about interest in the young forward, stating that the Serie A side are the only side with 'concrete' interest in his signature.
That was followed by claims from Nigerian website Omnasports that an agreement with Napoli is in place but the player himself contacted the outlet to set the record straight.
“The news relating to my agreement with Napoli is false. I am surprised by these journalists who claim to be professionals," he told Omnasports.
"Ignore this fake news on my account, when there is an agreement for my transfer you will know it directly from me."
Any deal for Osimhen would be an expensive one as Lille are staunch negotiators, commanding a club-record £72m fee from Arsenal for winger Nicolas Pepe last summer.
