Tottenham Hotspur head into the international break as the Premier League’s top team after their 100% start to the new season.
The Lilywhites followed up what’s been a good week in Europe with a third consecutive 1-0 win in the Premier League over newly promoted Watford.
However, despite their fantastic start to the season, new Spurs boss Nuno Espirto Santo has urged players and the club’s supporters not to get carried away with what's been going on far.
"It doesn't mean anything at all," Espirito Santo said in his post-match press conference. "I invite everybody, not only the players, but our fans - don't pay attention to that.
"Let's keep on working, we still have a long way and a lot of aspects to improve on."
Although Spurs have come out of the blocks quickly this campaign, Espirito Santo is probably quietly hoping that the club do not get overly encouraged by their north London rivals' entirely opposite start to the new season.
Mikel Arteta’s side were humiliated against reigning Champions Manchester City on Saturday as Pep Guardiola's side beat the Gunners 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium. They’ve now failed to score in their opening three matches, and have a goal difference of -9 – the worst record in the Premier League so far.
It is the first time the two north London rivals have ever found themselves at opposite ends of the table, but Arteta is confident that once his full squad returns, the Gunners will start to pick up points.
"Hopefully we can get some players back as well. We missed some players in recent weeks," he said in the post-match press conference after Saturday’s defeat.
“Hopefully some of them will be back in decent shape after the international break.
“It’s time reflect and to look ourselves in the mirror each of us and try to change the dynamic straight away, because we need to pick up results."
