Tottenham agree fee to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan but there could be a catch

Tottenham Hotspur have had a fee agreed for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez football.london understands, but there is still some way to go on the deal.

Spurs are understood to have had a fee of more than 60m euros agreed for the 23-year-old Argentine earlier this week as Inter battle big financial difficulties.

However, that fee was agreed before the deal for Chelsea to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge suddenly ramped up and hit an advanced stage.

There are now some question marks over whether Inter will allow both of their star strikers to leave the club, with the Serie A outfit now making noises that they do not want to sell Martinez.

Martinez won the Copa America with Argentina with both Giovani Lo Celso and new Tottenham signing Cristian Romero.

He scored 19 goals for Inter Milan last season in 38 games as they swept to the Serie A title.

Tottenham's plan, if they get Martinez through the door, is to play him alongside Harry Kane.

Both strikers are able to play up front or behind the striker and the hope is that the pair will complement each other.

However, following those discussions earlier this week, Inter now appear to be attempting to keep Martinez in Milan or at the very least looking to drive up the price further.
