Tottenham ace Ryan Sessegnon drops hint over future transfer after Hoffenheim loan spell

Ryan Sessegnon is doing his best this season to give Jose Mourinho and Tottenham something to think about for the 2021/22 campaign.

Limited in terms of appearances last year in N17 following his transfer from Fulham, the head coach decided it was best the versatile player moved on loan in the summer to get regular first-team action elsewhere.

The 20-year-old ended up signing a season-long loan deal at Hoffenheim and he has made quite a name for himself in his short time in Germany.

Registering two goals and two assists in his 16 appearances to date, Sessegnon has been a regular for his new team in the Bundesliga after starting nine from a possible 11 games.

It's exactly what he needed after such a stop-start year at Spurs and he will be hoping he has put himself in a very good position to be a Tottenham regular come August.

Catching the eye after first bursting onto the scene at Fulham as a teenager, Sessegnon had a number of clubs both home and abroad keen on his services.

However, it was Tottenham who won the race for his signature in August 2019.

Sessegnon continues to be linked with a move away given the uncertainty over his Tottenham future and he has opened up on the leagues he is a fan of in an interview with Planeta Milan (via Sport Witness).

"I like La Liga which is a good league with great teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona," he explained when asked about his transfer preferences for the future.

"But I also like Serie A a lot: there is Milan, a top club that I’ve always liked. But for now I am focused only on my team.”

Speaking prior to Christmas in an interview with Sky Sports News, the left-sided ace did admit that his target is to return to Tottenham in the summer and be in a position to play games on a regular basis.

"That's the aim," admitted Sessegnon. "That is why I am here, to get more experience, more games in a top league and then come back and be ready to play games next year with Spurs."
