Tottenham ace Lucas Moura outlines key difference between Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo

Tottenham frontman Lucas Moura has admitted that new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo is much quieter than his predecessor Jose Mourinho.

The Brazilian international, who joined the Lillywhites from French giants Paris Saint-Germain back in January 2018, struggled for consistency under Mourinho, notching just 14 goals and 12 assists across 80 games during the former Chelsea boss' tenure.

The Portuguese coach was sacked back in April and Spurs took over ten weeks to appoint his replacement, before former Wolves boss Espirito Santo was named as his successor at the end of last month.

Espirito Santo has been boosted by the news that prolific forward Heung-Min Son has signed a new long-term deal with the club and Moura has admitted it is important to keep hold of the club's best players.

"Every player that comes to the club has the quality to help the team," he told The BBC.

"We also lose some important players but football is like this. Players leave, players come."

The former PSG winger has also named the main difference between Mourinho and Espirito Santo, heaping praise on his new boss' intelligence levels in the process.

"He is a very clever manager," Moura added. "He did well at Wolves and can do well here. Everyone has a different style. Mourinho is quite different. Nuno is more quiet."

Espirito Santo will be in the managerial dugout as Tottenham face Chelsea and then Arsenal in their pre-season Mind Series tournament that starts on Sunday.

The Lillywhites get their Premier League campaign underway on August 15 when they travel to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
