Tottenham 2-0 Arsenal player ratings: Harry Kane stars as Gunners fluff lines on derby day

Tottenham earned north London derby bragging rights to return to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal.

Heung-min Son and Harry Kane scored the goals in the first half as Spurs soaked up the pressure of their fiercest rivals after the break to seal a comfortable three points.

The South Korean's opener was sublime, curling home from 30 yards after Kane had sent him down the left flank.

And Son returned the favour for his partner in crime moments before the break, playing the England skipper in to fire off the underside of the crossbar and past Bernd Leno.

Here's how the players rated on derby day...

Tottenham

Lloris 7

Pre-match fitness doubts were unfounded, made good saves from Lacazette.

Aurier 7

The reinvention continues. Once a liability, now a strong defender under Jose.

Dier 7

Looked a little shaky at first, but then got better and was excellent again.

Alderweireld 7

No wonder Spurs rushed him back, looked solid as he cut out Arsenal attacks.

Reguilon 7

Been an excellent signing for Spurs, showed here he’s also a good defender.

Hojbjerg 8

Absolutely bossed midfield. Major MotM contender but Kane wins these games.

Sissoko 7

Good performance, sat deep and sprang forward. Disciplined display.

Lo Celso 7

Booked. Gave away some sloppy fouls but worked hard defensively.

Bergwijn 7

Mourinho loves him in big games - and he always does a solid job.

Son 8

What a fabulous finish for Tottenham ’s opener, Arsenal were petrified of him.

Kane 9

MotM. The king of the North London. Goal, assist, brilliant. Ruthless.

Substitutes

Davies, for Lo Celso, 72 mins

Moura, Son, 88 mins

Rodon for Bergwijn, 90

Arsenal

Leno 6

Could you question his positioning on Son’s opener? Great strike but long way.

Holding 6

Shows plenty of heart, gives his all but the rest of the defence abandoned him!

Gabriel 7

Arsenal’s best signing last summer but he can’t work miracles every week.

Tierney 7

Arsenal’s best player, put some decent crosses in and showed real heart.

Bellerin 5

Sloppy defending, took fifth foul throw this season and final ball woeful.

Partey 6

Did not even last until half time. Risk of rushing him back from injury backfired.

Xhaka 6

Booked. Did a lot of shouting but somehow did not get booked until the 73rd minute.

Saka 6

Made some good, ambitious runs, but they very rarely ended up going anywhere.

Willian 5

Played a decent 45 minutes at Fulham on opening day. Not turned up since.

Lacazette 6

Booked. At least he battled, went close with a header but does no score enough.

Aubameyang 5

Looks a player absolutely lost, his confidence shot to bits and way off. Poor.

Subs

Ceballos, for Partey, 45 mins, 7

Nketiah, for Bellerin, 76 mins
