Tottenham 1 Inter Milan 0: Christian Eriksen gives Spurs Champions League hope

Christian Eriksen has given Tottenham one more chance to save their Champions League last-16 hopes with a late strike to beat Inter Milan 1-0 at Wembley.

Nothing less than a win would have been enough for Spurs on Wednesday night, and Mauricio Pochettino's side were up against a resilient Inter side who would have qualified with a point in London.

Harry Winks hit the bar in the first half, and it looked as though Spurs were heading out of the competition at the first hurdle - until Eriksen came off the bench.

The Danish playmaker finished a sweeping team move with 10 minutes to go to send Spurs above Inter into second place by virtue of their superior away goals tally in their head-to-head record with the Nerazzurri.

While Spurs still have their fate in their own hands, they must now head to Camp Nou to face Barcelona on the final matchday and ensure they match Inter's result against PSV Eindhoven.
