United delivered a solid first-half display, and arguably edged the opening 45 minutes in terms of chances created.

However, the visitors crumbled in the second half and conceded two quick-fire braces to the Gunners.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's header was quickly followed by a second from Nicolas Pepe.

Evidently rocked, United managed to somewhat stabilise and Allan Saint-Maximin came closest to halving the deficit when his curled effort struck the post.
