Tot rushed to hospital after falling from window of top-floor flat

Police have launched a probe after a two-year-old girl fell 40ft from a flat window in Barrhead.

Emergency services raced to Craighead Way around 8.25pm on Thursday September 2, after the horrifying incident.

A two-year-old girl was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children, in Glasgow, where she currently remains.

It is understood her condition is stable but the extent of her injuries is not yet known.

An investigation has been launched by detectives and the Police Scotland Public Protection Unit into the incident after the girl plummeted 40 feet on to the hard ground.

Enquiries currently remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesman told Renfrewshire Live : “Police received report of a two-year-old girl who was injured after falling from the window of a flat on Craighead Way, in Barrhead, around 8.25pm on Thursday September 2.

“Emergency services attended and she was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, where her condition is described as stable.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
