Tosun wonder goal, Kean and Sigurdsson also score but long night for globe-trotting Richarlison

In a busy night of internationals for Everton's players, Cenk Tosun, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Moise Kean all got themselves on the scoresheet.

Both Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane of course played in England's incident-packed 5-3 win over Kosovo at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium.

Centre-back Keane recovered from a glaring error in the first minute when he gave away possession enabling the Balkan minnows to go ahead to set up Raheem Sterling's equaliser seven minutes later.

By the interval the Three Lions were 5-1 up and looked set to hand the visitors a pasting but a spirited comeback in the second half which saw Harry Kane have a penalty save and Kosovo net twice, including once from the spot when Pickford got a hand on to Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi's effort saw the visitors reduce their arrears.

Out-of-favour striker Tosun, who was available for transfer over the summer but reportedly rejected offers to leave the Blues and has played only 16 minutes off the bench in a Carabao Cup tie at Lincoln City for Marco Silva's side so far this season, enjoyed the most fruitful evening from a personal point of view.

The £27million capture from Besiktas captained Turkey to a 4-0 away win over Moldova in Chisinau, bagging a brace of goals in the 37th and 79th minute.

His opener was particularly impressive as Tosun latched on to a chipped pass over the top, flicked the ball over Fortuna Sittard goalkeeper Alexei Koselev's head and then volleyed into the net while his second was a classic poacher's header.

The win puts Turkey top of Euro 2020 qualifying Group H with 15 points from six games, ahead of World champions France who are on the same total having defeated minnows Andorra 3-0 with Lucas Digne playing the full 90 minutes to help them to a clean sheet.

Iceland suffered a potentially costly defeat though, going down 4-2 in Albania to remain three points off the pace from the leading pair despite Gylfi Sigurdsson having equalised for them on 47 minutes to make the score 1-1.

There was also a painful loss for Richarlison – albeit in a friendly – as Brazil suffered a shock 1-0 reversal to Peru which ended their 17 match unbeaten run.

Having played 83 minutes against Colombia on Friday night, Richarlison, who has clocked up over 12,000 miles of travel this week, had been tipped to drop to the bench but started again and remained on the field until making way for Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior on 74 minutes and therefore could only watch from the sidelines as Luis Abram netted the only goal of the game at Los Angeles' Memorial Coliseum five minutes from the end to earn a modicum of revenge for their defeat in July's Copa America final.

Everton new boy Moise Kean got himself on the scoresheet in Italy Under-21s 5-0 thrashing of their Luxembourg counterparts in their Euro 2021 Group A qualifier, netting a 37th minute penalty before being substituted at half-time for Riccardo Sottil.

Meanwhile, another summer recruit Alex Iwobi played in a central number 10 role behind striker Victor Osimhen for Nigeria in their friendly against Ukraine in Dnipro.

Two first half goals ensured the African nation were 2-0 up when Iwobi was replaced by Anderson Esiti with 20 minutes remaining but a spate of changes impacted on the visitors rhythm and the hosts responded with a late quickfire double of goals to earn a 2-2 draw.
