Subtitled "a load of old balls" this 60-minute show is considerably more intelligent than its title might suggest. In fact, with a little tweaking, higher production values and less cheesy music this juggling showcase might really go places.
As it is stands it's a very enjoyable, slightly low-key hour performed by a young personable cast and is notable for the fact that it is part of a growing trend for circus based shows to try and create both narrative and emotion.
A whisper of a storyline connects the different segments as the cast act out a street scene and the events inside a cafe. A fight breaks out and butcher's knives are tossed dangerously in the air; a couple falling in love is symbolised by a glass ball that runs between and over their bodies with a quicksilver touch.
No object - from bicycle frames to champagne bottles- is safe from these jugglers. And they don't just do it with their hands: feet, heads and even backs are brought into play.
While there is no denying the considerable skill involved, the show lacks the well-drilled perfection of some more experienced and professional outfits. But in fact, part of the show's charm lies in the occasional muffed catches which constantly remind that we are all only human. With a new directorial eye, an injection of energy and more storytelling this could be a very nice little show indeed.
