Tory Party Conference attendee sparks security alert after attempting to enter area without the proper pass

A Conservative Party Conference attendee sparked a security alert after attempting to enter an area without the relevant pass.

The incident happened at the International Lounge at Manchester Central at around 1.45pm on Tuesday (October 1).

Security staff, police and paramedics could be seen walking into the area, while members of the press were ushered away.

Some reports on social media suggested an area of the International Lounge was on 'lockdown', with attendees not being allowed inside.

Police said no security breach took place.
