Tory MP finds office 'trashed' as he turns up for first day after reshuffle

A Tory MP and former minister arrived at his new office today to find it ‘trashed’.

Ex-Defence Minister Tobias Ellwood was given a new Parliamentary office after being sacked by Boris Johnson in his first reshuffle.

But arriving in the new digs this morning, the remain-backing MP found debris strewn across the floor.

The office is in Portcullis House, the building across the road from the Houses of Parliament which houses dozens of MPs.

A picture posted by Ellwood on Twitter showed bin bags, papers and paper clips scattered over the carpet.

An empty coffee cup and plate also appeared on one desk, alongside loose cables.

The Mirror understands the office was previously occupied by fellow Tory Chris Heaton-Harris, who was promoted to Transport minister in the same reshuffle.

Mr Ellwood, a former army officer, later posted another picture of his tidied-up office.

He wrote: "...much better. Royal Green Jackets standards."
