Tory leadership news LIVE: Six candidates remain after Matt Hancock bows out

The Tory leadership contest is heating up as candidates compete for a place on the final ballot alongside frontrunner Boris Johnson.

Mr Johnson's spectacular performance in the first ballot on Thursday saw him win a huge 114 of the 313 votes from Tory MPs, making him the clear favourite in the race.

Three candidates were kicked out of the race yesterday, meaning their collective 30 votes are up for grabs.

In a significant development today, Matt Hancock bowed out of the running.
