Boris Johnson has taken his biggest leap yet towards Number 10, after gaining more than 50 per cent of the votes in the ballot for the final two of the Tory leadership contest.
The former foreign secretary had another sensational win in the fifth and final ballot among Tory MPs, securing 160 votes - an increase of three votes from the fourth round.
He had more than double the votes secured by Jeremy Hunt, who dramatically jumped into second place with 77 votes - just two more than his rival Michael Gove.
Mr Gove had crept into second position after the fourth ballot earlier today, but was kicked out of the race, after receiving 75 votes.
