Professor John Tulloch has written a challenging piece in the latest issue of Ethical Space, a journal devoted to media ethics. He argues that there were "many editorial discussions" in the British press coverage of the extraordinary rendition controversy that "alluded to moral ambiguity, and implicitly entertained the possibility that, in an imperfect world, there were circumstances in which torture was understandable, even if not condonable".
