Given a rare start with Anssi Jaakkola rested. Stood and watched helplessly as Callum Ainley thumped in the opener. Made a good save to deny Antony Evans late on.
George Williams - 5
Never really got to grips with Charlie Kirk on the Rovers right, and Williams' limitations in attack are apparent when he's deployed at full-back.
Jack Baldwin - 4
Had a torrid first half, being outmuscled by winger Owen Dale for the opening goal before getting a yellow card for wiping out Mikael Mandron. Dale twisted him inside out another time in the second period, but this time the Crewe man's delivery was not so good.
Alfie Kilgour - 6
The physical Mandron posed plenty of problems, but by and large Kilgour managed his duties well.
Luke Leahy (c) - 5
Offered a source of creativity and threat from left-back, but he looked foolish when Evans nutmegged him to create a golden chance to make it 2-0. Day was fortunately on hand to make the save.
Josh Hare - 5
Played in an unfamiliar role as an out-and-out right midfielder and was an influence going forward. Could have done better with a headed chance from six yards out. Was taken off before the hour.
Zain Westbrooke - 5
A performance seen too often this season with glimpses of quality outweighed by spells of anonymity.
Cameron Hargreaves - 5
Industrious display in midfield without making a lasting impression.
Alex Rodman - 5
Plugged away without much effect, with his good form halted by injury and illness.
Erhun Oztumer - 4
One courageous run from the edge of his own box, which ended with a brilliant trivela pass for Brandon Hanlan, was a glimpse of what he is capable of, but overall he gave the ball away too cheaply. Taken off early in the second half.
Brandon Hanlan - 5
Ploughed a lone furrow up front, creating some good moments but often finding himself isolated. Went off injured.

Ben Liddle (for Hare on 58') - 5
Rusty, as expected, after a season spent mainly on the sidelines. Very lucky to get away with a horrible sliced ball which gifted Crewe a three vs two. Unlucky to see a late volley creep over.
James Daly (for Oztumer on 58') - 5
Given half an hour to impress but caused few problems for Crewe.
