Torres and Foden in - Man City predicted line up vs Marseille in Champions League

Ferran Torres should get the chance to play in Manchester City's Champions League clash with Marseille after being left on the bench at West Ham at the weekend.

Torres scored a brilliant goal against Porto last week, but that wasn't enough to earn a start at West Ham, or even come off the bench at the London Stadium.

But he can channel that disappointment and show Guardiola what he has to offer from the start as City contend with more injuries in attack.

Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are out, so Raheem Sterling is likely to move into the centre again in the latest Champions League group game. That opens up a wing position, and Torres should be the one to take it, fresh from barely playing in the last two fixtures.

On the other side, Riyad Mahrez is likely to play again to offer some experience, and Phil Foden should get a start after his impressive half on Saturday.

He can partner Kevin De Bruyne, back from injury, as City look to get a second win in as many group games. Ilkay Gundogan is often the first name on City's teamsheet in Europe, so he can give Rodri a rest and move back into defensive midfield.

In defence, Kyle Walker deserves a game on the bench after his run of starts finally caught up with him at West Ham. Joao Cancelo can move over to the right, with Aleks Zinchenko coming in on the left. Ruben Dias and Eric Garcia are favourites to start for the third consecutive game, unless Aymeric Laporte is risked from the start on what would be his first game back from injury.

Man City predicted XI vs Marseille: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Garcia, Zinchenko; Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden; Torres, Mahrez, Sterling.
