Torquay United boss confirms huge injury blow ahead of Notts County clash

Torquay boss Gary Johnson has confirmed influential striker Danny Wright has suffered another hamstring injury and will miss their clash against Notts County.

Wright was absent from the Gulls side which beat Woking 2-0 in midweek sparking suggestions that he had been rested for the National League clash.

But Johnson has confirmed the ex-Cheltenham forward was injured again having only returned from a serious hamstring problem at the beginning of April.

Armani Little and Kyle Cameron were also missing for the victory over the Cards and are also considered doubts for the clash against Notts at Plainmoor.

Johnson said: "They were all missing for a reason. It wasn't that I was resting them, which I have seen somewhere. You would be a fool to rest players such as them.

"They have all got slight injuries that if given another game in quick succession, and then another game, are injuries where it was dangerous to play them and risk losing them for longer, maybe.

"Armani is probably the one that will come back quickest. We are still waiting on the verdict to see how Kyle was. I won't say the injuries because again we would like to keep that to ourselves.

"And then Danny just felt a slight twinge in his hamstring from what he had before so we don't know how long or short that is going to be just yet.

"While he isn't playing, he is still injured. I'll clear that up for everybody because obviously we want him available as quickly as we can."
