Four people have been injured in a shooting as millions of fans were celebrating at a Toronto Raptors victory parade in Canada.
Crowds were forced to flee Nathan Phillip’s Square, Toronto, where the NBA team were celebrating their championship win on Monday.
Dramatic footage showed people running from the scene as police worked to clear the area.
Officers confirmed four victims suffered gunshot injuries.
Police Chief Mark Saunders said none of those injured were in a life-threatening condition.
Others suffered minor injuries as they tried to get away from the shooting, police said.
An investigation has been launched and two firearms were recovered from the area.
Three people have been arrested.
Canada's prime minister Justin Trudeau was among the two million fans cheering at the a victory parade through the city.
Nathan Phillips Square was the parade's final destination. At least two million fans were reported to have attended.
The incident caused only a brief pause in the celebratory speeches, which were still going on.
The incident is believed to have unfolded in Bay Street and Albert Street.
Bruce Arthur, a sports columnist for the Toronto Star, said police were telling crowds to "get down" amid the shocking scenes.
"Crowd on east side running again. Cops said get down. Oh no," he wrote on Twitter.
"Gunshots fired at the parade at the back south east corner of Nathan Phillips Square. One witness said four shots. Crowd ran.
"There is a victim down being given medical attention, surrounded by a crowd, and police are clearing people from the area. Speeches are still going on."
