Tories in mortifying spelling error amid ghost town conference

KEMI Badenoch is having a terrible conference season.

Her social media platform of choice, Twitter/X, is awash with photographs of Tory politicians speaking to deserted rooms and big policy announcements are being met with complete indifference from an uninterested media and public.

The only thing that could make matters worse for Badenoch is if there is yet another high-profile defection to Reform UK before things wrap up on Wednesday.

If all that wasn't bad enough, some bright spark decided to hand out bars of chocolates emblazoned with quotes from Badenoch.

One, shared with an LBC journalist, read: “When Labour negotiates, Britian [sic] loses.”

Regardless of how out of touch it is to be sharing items with quotes from Badenoch, as if her words are regularly invoked like some modern-day John F Kennedy or Margaret Thatcher, they can’t even spell the name of the country they want to run.

For the avoidance of doubt, it’s spelt: “Britain”.

A Labour source told LBC: “Yet another Tory Flake. They can't proofread five words on a bar of chocolate. This conference really isn't proving to be the Boost Kemi needs.”

One social media user said: “Sums up Kemi’s leadership of the party well – how’d they fail to notice that and proceed to hand them out?”

Another added: “Let's hope they are not trying to organise any recreational events in a brewery, they might struggle.”

Can’t say it fairer than that.
