Tories accidentally call for people with mental health problems to be 'neutered'

A local Conservative Party inadvertently called for people with mental health problems to be ‘neutered’ in an excruciating social media blunder.

Islington Tories made the foul-up on Twitter last night, blaming it on a typing error.

The original tweet read: “Great initiative by the Conservatives.

“Anyone with any mental health problems should be neutered and helped because #EveryMindMatters.”

The account later said the word ‘neutered’ should have read ‘nurtured’.

Explaining the error to followers yesterday, a tweet on the account read: “All, we sincerely apologise for this typo.

“It was meant to read “nurtured.” Please accept this apology as genuine and sincere.”

A tweet posted on the account later said: “Good morning, we tweeted this morning about mental health and included a typo that was completely unacceptable.

“Please accept this as a genuine mistake and our sincerest apologies over this matter.”
