Topshop launches its first vegan shoe collection

Topshop is launching its first vegan shoe collection.

The 12-piece range consists of six styles of sandals that each come in two different colours.

The shoes are made from non-animal and non-fish glue, making them 100 per cent vegan-friendly.

Each pair of shoes will also be packaged in a box that has been created using vegan materials, the high street brand announced on Wednesday.

The collection, which was handmade in Spain, has been approved by animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Among the standout pieces are the studded Birkenstock-style slides, which come in black and white, the burnt orange strappy heels and the pink mock snakeskin slingbacks.

The shoes are affordable too, with prices ranging from £42 to £59.

In a statement, Topshop has suggested that its new footwear is just the beginning of its foray into vegan clothing.

“We are really excited to be launching our first vegan collection this April,” comments Topshop’s fashion director, Maddy Evans.

“Initially we’re focusing on footwear and introducing six new styles that are produced alongside our premium shoe lines in Spain.

“We can’t wait to see how shoppers respond to the design-led collection and how far we can push vegan products across our accessories offering.”

Topshop’s vegan shoe collection is available in selected stores globally from 10 April.
