Topshop chief Sir Philip Green reveals Arcadia store closures – and Glasgow is on the list

Sir Philip Green's Arcadia Group has announced proposals to close 23 of its stores – and one of them is in Glasgow.

The retail tycoon's empire put forward a rescue plan which will see 520 jobs put at risk as Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Topshop and Topman stores are set to shut their doors.

Outfit, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Evans stores are also among high street brands on the list.

The Burton and Topman menswear store on Buchanan Street is on the list of shops earmarked for closure.

The retail group's proposals will also see rent cut at another 194 outlets.

It is another blow to Sir Philip, coming weeks after he lost his billionaire status according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
