Topshop and Dorothy Perkins to close stores under rescue plan - this is the full list

The billionaire owner of Topshop and Dorothy Perkins is planning to close 23 stores in the latest blow to the high street.

Sir Phillip Green is chairman of Arcadia Group, which also includes Miss Selfridge, Burton, Evans and Wallis.

The retail tycoon is planning to shut 23 branches and cut rents across 194 other outlets as part of a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) - a controversial insolvency process.

Some 520 jobs will be put at risk as a result.

But the agreement needs the support of the pensions watchdog, which has doubts whether the move will “adequately protect” the pensions of staff.

Under the plans, Arcadia says it will inject £100million into the pension fund over several years to cover the shortfall - but the regulator is concerned it is not enough.

Ian Grabiner, chief executive of Arcadia Group, told the BBC that the decision was "tough but necessary" for the company's future.

The proposals also include the closure of all 11 Topshop and Topman stores in the US.
