Social media giants Jesse Burgess and Will Warr, the founders of the food channel Topjaw, have collaborated with London’s 40ft Brewery to create a new, limited-edition beer.
Called “Overnight Success”, the IPA will launch on November 5 and marks 10 years of Topjaw’s videos, watched by millions every month.
All proceeds from sales of the beer will go to hospitality charity Street Smart, a cause Burgess and Warr said is close to their hearts.
Street Smart, now in its 27th year, aims to fight homelessness via restaurants, which throughout November and December add an optional £1 to bills to encourage diners to donate.
The charity supports causes including homelessness projects, providing housing, outreach, and hospitality or employability training programmes that help vulnerable people get back into work.
“To mark a decade of Topjaw, we’re raising a glass to the journey that got us here with our very own celebratory beer,” said Burgess and Warr.
“A nod to the term that is sometimes used to describe us, ‘overnight success’, when in reality it’s been 10 years of graft, enthusiasm, and love for the hospitality industry.
“Overnight Success celebrates not just how far we’ve come, but the people, places, and stories that made it all possible.”
The Topjaw founders worked with the Hackney-based 40ft Brewery to create the anniversary beer, a New England-style hazy IPA with tasting notes of ripe mango, peach and white grapes.
The beer will be available at pubs and bars such as Darby’s, The Devonshire, the Knave of Clubs, the Coach & Horses, Bloodsports, the Sun & 13 Cantons.
Founder of 40ft Brewery, Steve Ryan said: “It has been great working with Jesse and Will to create an anniversary beer.
“We were thrilled to hear about the boys’ love of an IPA and together we have brewed a fresh NEIPA which we can’t wait for fans to try across some of our joint favourite pubs and bars in the capital.”
