Top WR performers in NFL combine drills

On Saturday at the NFL combine, the wide receivers performed their athletic testing. They ran the 40 and did other drills like the three-cone, vertical leap and more.

Since the Arizona Cardinals have needs at receiver and are likely to target a receiver in the draft, these numbers should be intriguing to fans.

Let’s take a look at the top performers in the different drills.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

18 different receivers ran the 40-yard dash in under 4.5 seconds. Here were the top 10 receivers and their times:

3-cone

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The 3-cone is considered by some to be a more important athletic test because it measures short-area quickness and the ability to change directions, rather than straight-ahead speed. 18 players got under 7.2 seconds. Top receivers and defensive backs get under 7.0. Eight got under that.

Some notable receivers like D.K. Metcalf and N’Keal Harry did not do this drill.
