A popular restaurant in Stokes Croft which initially only opened for dinner has now extended its opening hours to also serve brunch and lunch.
Masa + Mezcal has built up a solid reputation since opening in March, with Bristol Live's food critic Mark Taylor labelling it 'the most exciting new Bristol restaurant this year' and giving it an overall rating of four out of five.
Headed up by Kieran and Imogen Waite, the couple behind Bravas, Bakers & Co, Gambas and Cargo Cantina, it serves authentic and modern Mexican food with a focus on freshness and vibrancy.
For its first six months of service it was only open for late-night diners, but from now onwards it will be open all day seven days a week, with a brand new brunch and lunch menu.
The new menus
The new brunch menu has been inspired by the team’s research trips to Mexico and is broken down into three sections - Brunch, Raw and Tacos.
Dishes include Mexican brunch classics such as Huevos a la Mexicana - scrambled eggs, fresh tomato, spring onion and soft tortillas (£7.50) - and brunch chilaquiles - fried tortillas coated in salsa, topped with hard cheese and red onion finished (£6.90).
Small plates include oysters and sea bass ceviche (£2.90 each), and a seasonal selection of tacos including shredded pork tacos with pineapple (£6.60).
Everything can be enjoyed with Masa + Mezcal’s specially-created brunch cocktails and diners can also choose from a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and plant-based options. The entire menu is completely gluten free.

Brunch at Masa + Mezcal will be served from 10.30am Monday to Saturday and from from 11am on Sunday.
