A legendary St Andrews restaurant will be reopening after Scotland's lockdown easing on June 1 - but it won't be in Fife.
However, one location's loss is very much our gain, as Haar, owned by MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Dean Banks, will be reopening right here in Edinburgh, revealed by a report from The Courier.
Earlier this month, Dean tweeted the first revelation of the news, writing: "E.D.I.N.B.U.R.G.H 2021" to a flurry of excitement from Edinburgh foodies.
Before the coronavirus pandemic, Dean had been planning to open a second Haar restaurant in Edinburgh as a sister eatery to the Fife venue - however now all operations will be moved to the capital.
Over lockdown, keen foodies nationwide tucked into Dean's 'Haar at Home' service which boasted huge platters of seafood which could be cooked and enjoyed at home.
The Michelin Guide 2021 listed restaurant is known for the freshest and 'most sustainable' seafood and it's hoped that the new Edinburgh venue will open 'by June 1'.
On their website Haar describe their dining experience as one that "simply focuses on letting the food speak for itself. Haar hosts some of the best produce from across the British Isles with little touches and nuances from Europe and further afield."
According to The Courier, the move comes after an unresolved lease review with Haar's landlord, but told the publication that the new Edinburgh site will be "very central and is well-known."
We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we do when Haar officially announces the location of its new home in Edinburgh - in the meantime, follow them on Instagram here.
