1. Class X (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) exams began across Karnataka this morning. This year’s exams are being watched keenly because of the government enforcing the rule that uniform will be compulsory at exam centres, and that any garment indicating religious identity — such as a hijab or a saffron shawl — will not be allowed in exam centres.

2. Budget session of Karnataka continues. The session will conclude by the end of this month.
