Burglars have smashed a car into a top Mayfair antiques dealers in an early morning ram-raid on Thursday.

The ram raid at A Pash & Sons, known for its collection of fine antique silver, was reported in the early hours of the morning, said Scotland Yard.

The suspects rammed their car into the store on South Audley Street, which was closed at the time, leaving it at the scene.

They then fled in a different car.

Police were called to reports of a burglary at the upmarket premises shortly after 5am and closed the road as they retrieved the car used to smash into the shop.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and found a vehicle had been driven at the store.

“The suspects had left the vehicle at the scene and fled in a separate car. The premises was closed at the time of the burglary.”

No arrests have yet been made.

Footage of the aftermath of the raid showed the store’s shutter crumpled inwards and police vans at the scene.

The top dealership has been operating for around a century.

It has stock which contains “some of the most important decorative silver ever made” and “pieces with important royal provenance”.

Among their stock is a £950,000 Victorian candelabrum and a 850 ounce silver model of an African lion.

However, police declined to say if any items were reported as stolen in the raid.

No one was immediately available to speak to the Standard at the 2500 sq feet shop.

Witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC, quoting 1021/21APR.
