A top jockey has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardai have confirmed they are investigating a report of sexual assault on a female in Ashbourne, Co. Meath.
The alleged victim made a complaint to local Gardai and was interviewed by officers.
The jockey is understood to have strongly denied the allegations and is expected to be shortly formally interviewed in connection with the alleged incident.
Gardai have said they are pursuing a definite line of enquiry.
A spokesperson said: "Gardai are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault on a female that is reported to have occurred on Sunday 21st July 2019 at approximately 03:00am in the Ashbourne area of Co. Meath.
"Investigations are ongoing.
"Gardai are following a definite line of enquiry."
