- Top Iranian scientists have been killed in Israeli strikes, according to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
- Speaking at a news conference, Netanyahu branded Iran’s new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, a “puppet of the Revolutionary Guards” who cannot appear in public.
- Netanyahu’s remarks come hours after Iranian state TV read a statement, supposedly from Khamenei, on air Thursday. He hasn’t been seen since being selected as Iran’s new supreme leader and he is said to have been injured at the start of the war.
- Netanyahu also addressed the Iranian people, saying the moment for a “new path of freedom” was approaching and that Israel stands with them.
- “But at the end of the day, it depends on you. It is in your hands,” he said.
