Chris Evans has revealed when Top Gear will return to screens with brand new hosts after the ‘fracas’ that disrupted the series.
The TV presenter and one of those confirmed to host the motoring show told Saturday Kitchen’s James Martin: “You can expect a car show starting on 5 May [2016]”.
Evans said production was already underway. “We're going to America to make our first inter-continental in January [and we're] making another film next week. By the time we hit the air on 5th May, we'll have 32 films in the can as they say."
The BBC decided against renewing Clarkson’s Top Gear contract after he assaulted the producer Oisin Tymon. Clarkson and his former co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond have signed contracts to front a new motoring show with Amazon Prime.
