Eric Spinato, a top producer for Fox News and Fox Business, died of Covid-19 at the weekend, according to Fox.
Staff at the network were told on Monday that it was “with tremendous sadness” that Mr Spinato “passed away suddenly,” according to a memo seen by Mediate and CNN.
It said Mr Spinato was "instrumental to the growth and entrepreneurial success" of the network over a 23-year period of working for Fox.
Starting at the network in 1998, he worked as booker, producer and story editor before leaving for CNN and MSNBC in 2004, and returning in 2007 to launch Fox Business.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, Fox News president Jay Wallace, and Fox Business president Lauren Petterson all signed the memo on Monday, according to reports.

"Eric was an immensely gifted and aggressive booker and was renowned for booking the innumerable 'gets' we've seen on both FNC (Fox News Channel) and FBN (Fox Business Network) over the years,” said the memo.
"Many of us can probably recall the cheerful greetings and outreach we received from Eric over his many years here," said Ms Scott, Mr Wallace, and Ms Petterson.
“His excitement, positivist and energetic team spirit were one of a kind and will be greatly missed," the memo added. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to Eric's entire family, including his two sons and his girlfriend."
Mr Spinato’s brother, Dean, said on Instagram that “Covid took my brother”, and paid tribute to him as “an amazing father, brother and friend”.
"I’m sorry to say this but this day broke me hard,” he added. “I will make you proud for the rest of my life”.
The death of Mr Spinato was afterwards reported by Fox Business host David Asman on Monday afternoon, according to CNN, as Fox staffers and others paid tribute on social media.
“If you've ever booked before, you probably know Eric,” wrote Erin Perrine, the communications director for Texas senator Ted Cruz. “Eric was a great guy. Very outgoing and gracious with advice.”
“Such a devastating loss for his family, loved ones, and the entire Fox team,” she added.
