Top five most popular takeaway dishes ordered in Liverpool during lockdown

Going out to eat seems like a distant memory after weeks of lockdown during which restaurants, cafes and pubs have remained closed.

This week, the government announced plans to reopen certain shops and services from next month, but our favourite food and drink venues will stay shut for a while longer to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Thankfully, many takeaways in Liverpool have remained open, and some restaurants have even launched a new takeaway service to help keep their business running during this difficult time.

Getting a delivery or collection has become a real treat with some people even making it part of their weekly routine during lockdown.

It’s also given people a break from the endless cooking that’s been going on while people have been spending more time than ever at home.

Now, Deliveroo has revealed which dishes people have been ordering the most in Liverpool during the lockdown.

And the top five is a real mix, with pizza, vegan food and Asian dishes included.

These are the top five dishes in order of popularity from the last two months across Liverpool:

  1. Cheeseburger - Five Guys
  2. Chicken Katsu Curry - Kokoro
  3. Margherita - Crust
  4. Salt and Pepper Chicken (vegan) - Woo Tan Scran
  5. Original Poutine - Caribou Poutine

Arabella Jenkins at Deliveroo said: “As many people's daily routines have been turned upside down over lockdown - one thing is for sure, food is more important than ever as a moment to savour in daily life - whether it’s ordering in a classic cheeseburger from Five Guys, or a delicious vegan dinner from Liverpool’s local legend, Woo Tan Scran.’
