Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn listed out 16 countries people have visited and led to Covid-19 cases in Ireland since the start of June.
Speaking at the Department of Health briefing on Monday Dr Glynn listed the UK, USA and France as well as 13 more countries.
Foreign travel remains one of the biggest concerns in regards a second wave in Ireland.
In a direct appeal to tourists, Dr Glynn said: “Stay in your hotel. Now is not the time to explore Ireland unfortunately.
“If you come into this country you need to restrict your movements for 14 days. It is a concern people are not following that.
“We have an opportunity to control this pandemic and we can’t lose that.”

Latest figures
There were no new deaths yesterday and just 11 new cases. The death toll stands at 1,746 with people 25,638 infected. The 14-day rate of the disease is up slightly to 3.47 per 100,000 population.
Meanwhile, at least one Covid-19 cluster has arisen from young people attending a house party.
The HSE’s Dr Siobhan Ni Bhriain urged people not to be afraid to come forward to be tested if they had been to one.
She said: “We are not in the business of blame. Your doctor is not going to be giving out to you.”
