Top cop who caged Peter Tobin believes the beast will never reveal deadly secrets

The detective who nailed Peter Tobin believes the serial killer will take secrets about other victims he murdered to his grave.

Former detective superintendent David Swindle helped bring Tobin to justice for the murders of Angelika Kluk, 23, Dinah McNicol, 18, and 15-year-old Vicky Hamilton.

Tobin, 74, who is dying from cancer, is serving three life sentences for the killings which he carried out between 1991 and 2006.

Swindle, who is now a private investigator, has long believed Tobin is responsible for more deaths.

The ex-senior officer will appear in a documentary about Tobin which is being shown tonight.

He said ahead of the programme: “I absolutely still think Peter Tobin killed more people. I’ve no doubt in my mind.

“Tobin has always denied the crimes he was convicted of even when there was overwhelming evidence. He has never admitted what he has done.”

“I always live in hope that some information will be forthcoming.”

The Murderer and Me is broadcast on Sky Crime at 9pm tonight.
