POLICE have reiterated their warning to anyone who tries to attend the Tim Tszyu fight from Greater Sydney or other banned areas, promising to check every single attendee's identification.
In a repeat of last week's warning to Sydneysiders, Newcastle City commander, Detective Superintendent Wayne Humphrey, spoke at the weigh-in on Tuesday to ram home the messages to spectators.
"If you have purchased tickets making out you are not from those areas, you will not get in because there will be 100 per cent ID checks at the gate," he said.
"This is a licensed premises and the licensee will not only ask for ID, but current address. Please don't think you're going to sneak in and put everyone at risk."
Supt Humphrey said spectators must check-in using a QR code and wear face masks inside the venue.
"There will be an anticipation you will have a mask on," he said. "We will be heavy here tomorrow night to make sure there is compliance."
