Top comedian Nish Kumar announced to play one-off Bristol Hippodrome gig

It would be fair to say it's been a busy few years for Nish Kumar.

The actor and stand-up comedian has been gracing our screens in a number of well-known programmes and panel shows, perhaps most notably as host of satirical news show The Mash Report.

As a live performer, he has performed solo Edinburgh Festival shows since 2012 and has also appeared at major events and festivals all over the world, including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Latitude Festival.

And in June we will have an opportunity to watch him perform a one-off stand-up show in the city for a very special cause.

Raising funds for Above & Beyond, the charity which raises vital funds for Bristol's hospitals, Nish has been announced to play the Hippodrome on June 16 alongside an all-star lineup.

Joining Nish at Funny Bones will be Laura Lexx, Kiri Prichard-McLean, Jake Lambert and a host of other comedy favourites, with the evening being hosted by Bristol comedian Mark Olver.

Last year’s event, headlined by Russell Howard, raised more than £100,000 for the charity.

Edd Smith, corporate partnerships and community fundraising manager for Above & Beyond, said: “Thanks to Nish and all the comedians who’ve signed up this promises to be an incredible evening of entertainment.

“Events like this mean we can continue to go above and beyond for Bristol’s hospitals and ensure we make a real difference to patients, their families and the staff who treat them.”

Tickets

Funny Bones will take place at Bristol Hippodrome on June 16.

Tickets are available from the Hippodrome website.
